Become an author

The Textbook Project welcomes proposals for new open-access textbooks in law and related disciplines.

We publish chapter by chapter, with peer review, curated translations, and transparent revision. Authors retain intellectual control; readers access the work freely under an open licence.

If you are preparing a textbook manuscript and wish to discuss publication on this platform, please get in touch with a brief outline of the subject, intended readership, and stage of completion.

Peer review

Every textbook on The Textbook Project undergoes peer review before publication and may be revised in light of scholarly feedback after publication.

Reviewers are selected for subject expertise and teaching experience. The process focuses on legal and scholarly accuracy, clarity of argument, and suitability for students and independent readers.

Published chapters identify their version and revision history. When material changes substantively, the version number and date are updated so readers and teachers can cite the correct edition.

Corrections and comments from readers are welcome. The online format allows the project to respond to errors and to incorporate constructive feedback without waiting for a new print run.
